CINEMATOGRAPHER Halyna Hutchins was remembered for her talent behind the camera.
In October 2021, Halyna was fatally shot by Alec Baldwin on the set of the movie, Rust, and over a year later, the actor is set to be charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

Who is Matthew Hutchins?
Matthew Hutchings is known as the wife of cinematographer Halyna and as an attorney with the Los Angeles firm, Latham & Watkins.
According to his LinkedIn page, he graduated from Harvard Law School after receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California.
Prior to his wife's death, the couple had been married for 16 years at which time they welcomed their nine-year-old son, Andros.
Following the tragedy, Matthew told Insider: "I don't think there are words to communicate the situation. I am not going to be able to comment about the facts or the process of what we're going through right now, but I appreciate that everyone has been very sympathetic.

"I think that we will need a little bit of time before we can really encapsulate her life in a way that is easy to communicate."
On Saturday, October 23, 2021, it was reported that Matthew and Andros met with Alec Baldwin for breakfast following the incident.
According to a source, Baldwin "didn't look good" and the group seemed to be sad the entire time.
In an exclusive interview with ABC 20/20 on December 2, 2021, he commented on meeting with Mathew.

When it came to putting into words how Alec felt about the meeting with Mathew and Andros he said he, “wouldn’t know how to categorize” the emotional gravity of the meeting.
"The guy isoverwhelmed with grief," Baldwin said in the interview.
"There are incidental accidents on film sets from time to time, but nothing like this. This is a one in a trillion episode," the actor added.
What happened to Halyna?
Halyna was shot to death after Baldwin accidentally fired a loaded prop gun while on the set of his new film.
The sheriff's office said Baldwin fired the prop gun and hit both the film's director, Joel Souza, and Halyna, who was serving as the director of photography.
The 42-year-old was then flown by helicopter to the University of New Mexico hospital, the state's only Level 1 trauma center, in critical condition where she later died.
Souza, 49, was treated and released from a different hospital.
It was later determined by police that rookie armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and Assistant Director David Halls were the last ones to handle the gun before Baldwin fired the fatal shot.
Pace Law School professor, Leslie Y. Garfield Tenzer, told The Sun exclusively in October 2021 that Gutierrez-Reed and Halls could be charged with involuntary manslaughter, but the case was still under investigation.
On February 15, 2022, it was announced thatHalyna Hutchins' family is suing Alec Baldwin over the "reckless" shooting deathon the set of Rust.
The suit claims that Baldwin, along with the other defendants, "failed to perform industry standard safety checks and follow basic gun safety rules while using real guns to produce the movie Rust, with fatal consequences."

What has Alec Baldwin said about the incident?
Baldwin first addressed the situation in a tweet saying: "There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours."
He added he's "fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.
"My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna," he concluded.
Speaking beside his wife Hilaria, in a separate interview on October 30, 2021, Baldwin then appeared to be a bit tenser in footagecaptured by TMZ.
Baldwin had called Halya his "friend" while holding back tears and revealed that he had taken her and Joel out to dinner his first night on set.
"She was my friend. The day I arrived in Santa Fe to start shooting I took her to dinner with Joel the director," he said.
"We were a very, very well-oiled crew shooting a film together and then this horrible event happened."
The couple was then seen getting upset at a reporter for asking about the shooting but forgetting Halyna's name.
"Her name is Halyna," Hilaria snapped. "If you're spending this much time waiting for us you should know her name."

What is Alec Baldwin being charged with?
A New MexicoDistrict Attorney announced the pending charges againstBaldwin on January 19, 2023 - ones the actor says he will fight as he tries to maintain his innocence.
If convicted, Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed could face a sentence of up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine, but could also be sentenced to five years in jail since the offense was committed with a gun.
