Tiawanna E. Dinkins Obituary - 2023 (2024)

LUGOFF – A service to celebrate the life of Tiawanna Ellene Dinkins, 66, will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1391 Centerville Road, Ridgeway, SC, with burial to follow in the Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.

Ms. Dinkins passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Born in Camden, Tiawanna was the daughter of Johnny Oree Ellis and Myrna Lana Reynolds Dinkins. She worked at the Kershaw County Magistrate Court. She was a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Elgin Ward. She loved the primary-aged kids she taught as well as being a member of the Relief Society organization.

Tiawanna’s biggest pride and joy in life was her family. She loved them fiercely! She loved to make memories through photographs and didn’t miss a single event if she could help it, no matter if it was 5 minutes away or 5 hours. She lit up the room with her smile, and was so quick to give compliments to others. Her laugh was contagious; she would drop whatever she was doing to spend time with her friends. She was loyal, always checking in on her friends and family. She thrived serving those she loved, especially her precious parents, who in return loved her more than life itself. She was a lifesaver to them!

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Brandon Collins (Jenny) of Lugoff; daughter, Ginger Wood (Shaun) of Piney Creek, N.C.; brother, Byron Dinkins (Susan) of Blythewood; sister, Valencia Hornsby (Joey) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Hunter Collins, Spencer Wood, Andrew Wood, Carson Wood and Ellie Wood; nieces and nephews, Audrey McCune (Anthony), Marshall Dinkins (Lindsay), Erika Maxfield (Jack), Ethan Chandler (Rachel), Addison Munson (Tyler), Alex Hornsby (Sam), Abby Blackwell (Michael), Maddie Dinkins and Will Dinkins; and great-nieces and nephews, Carter, Adeline, Cole, Cooper, Leighton, Logan, Parker, Everly, Montana, Cora and Noah.
