Is Don't Breathe 2 worth watching? ›

A Great Fun, Suspenseful Thriller, and Action Movie and as good as the first one in it's own way, must watch. First, Cruella, and now, The Blind Man.

Hiding out for years in an isolated cabin, Norman Nordstrom has taken in and raised a young girl orphaned from a house fire. Their quiet existence is shattered when a group of kidnappers show up and take the girl, forcing Norman to leave his safe haven to save her.

The sequel is set in the years following the initial deadly home invasion, where Norman Nordstrom lives in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him.

Eight years after the events of the first film, blind Navy SEAL veteran Norman Nordstrom lives with 11-year-old daughter, Phoenix and his Rottweiler, Shadow, in a Detroit suburb. Norman tells Phoenix that her birth mother died in a fire in their old house.

Stephen Lang remains a thrillingly imposing presence in Don't Breathe 2, but this sequel's story strains to find a sensible way forward for his character. It may not be quite as good as the first Don't Breathe, but this tense, action-packed sequel will keep you on the edge of your seat despite a flawed story.

You CAN watch the second film without watching the first but you will understand the story and enjoy it a lot more if you watch the first film first.

Production. On November 6, 2022, Stephen Lang revealed in an interview that he planned to enjoy filming Don't Breathe 3, which lead various news sources to believe that the film was in the works.

Norman Nordstrom is a blind United States Navy veteran. During his military service, he was blinded by grenade shrapnel. After he returned home, his daughter Emma was later killed in a car accident by Cindy Roberts. Nordstrom took Cindy captive and impregnated her to give him a new child after the death of Emma.

During the creative process, the decision was apparently made to switch the Blind Man into more of a protagonist role when his new house is besieged by a separate group of home invaders. Sayagues explains that it just wouldn't have made sense to include Levy's character.
